Night Swim and Wadefest

We celebrated our final lake swim for the year by doing it once again in the dark. Eleven of us braved the inky black 27.5 degree water with Dana, Robynne and Kurt guiding us as paddlers, without whom we likely would not have found the pumphouse.

The photos show us all assembled in our respective light paraphernalia, first on the beach before our swim, second gathered at the midpoint in the shallow waters of the pumphouse, and third wading back to the beach in anticipation of Hot Chocolate with Bailey's.
With the shallow water we likely could have waded all the way to the pumphouse. We did have to wade quite far into the lake before we could swim, which allowed for a very gradual immersion into the coolish water. Moist of us shunned the wetsuits with a few swimmers maintaining a wetsuit-free record for all of the swims this summer.
So now we are back to our routine of pool swims. For the morning swimmers that means overcoming our clinomania, then undertaking a period of pandiculation, often accompanied by a reach for our acnestis.
When we get to the pool we have to deal with the curglaff, and then follow the coach like quockerwodgers.
I wish you all a great season of black line swimming and plunging!
